the boys disguised as hippies created a psychedelic pop album
you won't find the new "Kids" hit in here,but you will find beautiful tunes
after the 12-minute 60s revival "Siberian Breaks",the ironic "Brian Eno" and "Lady Dada's Nightmare" take it one step further
these are songs that intend to make you "feel",not just created to be played in the background

i'm sure that their true fans won't be disappointed,not after they listen to my favourite "Someone's Missing"
a pretty good record for a pretty beautiful season

Now its the time for their 4th, still untilted album, set for release sometime Spring, 2010. They 've already revealed 2 new tracks, "Stuck Dumb"- free download- and most recently, "Heartbeat Song"(already streaming at their MySpace page). The whole attitude is still the same, rough/post-punk that is, but with a poppier edge this time round. Enjoy!

Neon Indian is a band from Austin, Texas. The music is composed by Alan Palomo, also known for his work with the band Ghosthustler and as the artist Vega. On October 13, 2009, the band released it's debut LP "Psychic Chasms". The album was designated as Best New Music by music web site Pitchfork Media.Pitchfork Media also listed two tracks from "Psychic Chasms" in their list of The Top Tracks of 2009. The Young Friends are a 5-piece from Phoenix, US and they 've already released a free download debut ep called "North End/Sound End" on Holiday records. That ep must have been downloaded a lot since they stopped giving that away for free some months ago. A new music file format has been created that can embed lyrics, videos, artwork and comments within it’s coding.

It will be called MP3DNA.
Spearheading this new design is Karlheinz Brandenburg, the man who brought you the mp3.

Mr Bach said: “These files will be dynamically updateable so every time the user is connected his file will be updated. MusicDNA will have a test version in the spring with a full roll out at the end of the summer.”

The new format will go head to head with Apple’s iTunes LP, which gives users a similar experience with bonus tracks, lyrics and video interviews.

their first EP will be called "Sperm Donor" and will be out in March

the track that they revealed to us a few minutes ago is the instrumental "We Are Rifoki"
fast killer drums and quick guitar riffs make it sound really interesting in only just 58 seconds
imagine that with some crazy vocals filling in,their EP is gonna be sick

a lot has been said for the new Gorillaz album "Plastic Beach", coming out on March 8th
Damon Albarn had stated that he would like "to work with an incredibly eclectic, surprising cast of people."
and so he did
the album will feature Snoop Dogg, Lou Reed, Mos Def, Mark E. Smith and several others
Gorillaz have even recorded a track with The Horrors,but noone knows if it will be released
so there's no doubt that we are all waiting for this album

the first track that we were lucky to hear is a radio edit of "Stylo"
i would say it is more into 80s, a different sound of what we were expecting
but it is rather interesting,it sounds like an old analog electronic song
and you can hardly tell if it is the usual Damon singing,featuring Bobby Womack and Mos Def

blame/enjoy the energy,blame/enjoy the antipopstar attitude,blame/enjoy their fake identity
and blame them for stealing from 8bit artists, but for me they are the only ones who gave some soul to this -not fully discovered- genre

Rusko - Debut Album
rusko on the other hand is the master of dubstep
he's been working on his first proper album since late 2008 - early 2009
and it was supposed to come out on last September by Mad Decent records
so let's hope that the album will be out this year

why do we need this album?
since he's the master of dubstep and the one who brought it "overground" -NOT A BAD THING
i'm sure he can survive this process of making an album that will meet the expectations and an album that people can listen when they're home(no wobble)
after all dubstep is possibly the next dance...

HeartsRevolution has been on a very long journey, 4 years to be exact. We set out with the intention to start a cultural revolution and to change the way music influenced people's lives, we wanted to make beautiful things (music/art) and not worry about doing it for anyone other than ourselves... With that being said, we have been in the process of recording our first full length record, RIDE OR DIE, 13 songs with a video for each track. We are taking our time and not allowing the false time restrictions and deadlines that the world sometimes tries to project on you allowing you to real pressure and fear. There is nothing to fear but fear itself. But that isn't the news.. Most of you know we have a fleet of cotton candy pink heartschallenger ice cream trucks in LA/NY. Well, we wanted to bring that experience to the kids around the globe. But, we didn't want to stop there... So, think The Pains Of Being Pure At Heart, put them on some black outfit, make them sound a lot darker and cool and there you have it...Big Toubles! There's just 2 things you need to know about Big Troubles: 1) They 've already released a 7'' single and they 're preparing their debut ep set for release sometime this year.

Primary Colours was our favorite album
The XX album was on #27
it seems pretty logical why you loved The XX
the minimalistic approach of the production
vocals like porcelain dolls which you can't touch because they are ready to crash on the floor
everything on the right place
but
still i rate it as a 7 out of 10 album cause all the songs are too similar
Crystalised for example is a great great song (personal favorite) but the rest of the album is far from that standards
it's a good, promising, i-recently broke up- record
for me Fuck Buttons are the biggest win here since it's a difficult,noisepop record

let's hope that 2010 is an even better year for music

Vague information about the new LCD Soundsystem continues to dribble out. In this week’s NME, which hit newsstands today, James Murphy says that the eagerly-anticipated record is “definitely better” than the band’s previous two full-lengths.

“What I tried to do on the second record [Sound of Silver] was to make a much more wider and strange-sounding record [than LCD Soundsystem], but I ended up making something more cohesive. This time round I’m not sure what I’m trying to do…but I think I am doing what I was trying to achieve on Sound of Silver, which was a wider palette of sound.”

No news yet on the tracklist or title of the album, which is expected to see release in the early Spring.

“I don’t tend to name my albums until they’re completely done,” Murphy tells NME. “I always have a fake title that is the worst title I can think of while I’m working on it….This new record is called ‘Internet Sensation!’ with an exclamation mark.”

The album has been recorded in LA and New York with LCD regulars Al Doyle (also of Hot Chip) and Pat Mahoney, as well as Gavin ‘Black Meteoric Star’ Russom.

it appears that they are the masters of djing as well
you won't find fast mixes and mashups here
they prefer to "dj on two turntables"
and somehow you can't tell when they spin a new track
their mix also contains new Simian Mobile Disco tracks

Titus Andronicus are back
with one of the most underated albums of the decade on their bags they release the follow up
"The Monitor" will be released on 9th of March
first single from the album is called "Four Score and Seven" and it's an epic 8min. long monster

they decided to split it into two parts which is working really good for the track
part 1 is an indie-country crossover with the vocals climax going on "you won't be laughing, so hard"
part 2 is the time for the guitars + smart drumming to do their job
as it's getting louder n' louder you can clearly feel that this band sounds like their enjoying themselves so much and i'm pretty sure they do

back in 2008,we were impressed with their debut album "Beat Pyramid"
it didn't seem to follow any genre that year,but still it sounded totally fresh
2010 comes with their follow-up,called "Hidden"
and no,they still don't intend to make easy-memorable songs
they created a journey to the past in 11 tracks
it is like living in an old civilization
they have cleverly added choirs,and the record is not relied on guitars at all
it is definitely beat-driven while amazing synth sounds explode
the samples that they have used create a unique atmosphere,which can only transfer you to the past

it is not a safe path to follow on your second album,but these guys are worth a lot of respect for this work
so do them a favour,and try to keep the volume up so that you can totally feel it

Royal Bangs are an American rock group from Knoxville, TN.
"Let It Beep" is the follow up to the bands debut album "We Breed Champions".
As an album it is cheery, uplifting and very fun to listen!

Their sound can be described as package of smart and catchy indie rock riffs, that reminds me a lot of The Black Keys (the drummer of whom, Patrick Carney, runs the Audio Eagle Records label on which Let it Beep was released), and dazzling eloctronic 8-bit.

The word that suits ''Let It Beep" the best , is the word conquest. The group experiments a
wide variety of musical sounds.

Lovely garage ballads + shoe-gazing melancholic tones + 8bit + amazing pop guitar rythms + mind blowing synths + raw Southern Rock licks = "Let It Beep"

THIS IS IT!
the stylish boys won the battle over the 2nd "difficult" album
it's not original, it's not groundbreaking but, fuck me, it's breathtaking
when it first came, the video of Sea Within A Sea, created chaos among the indie kids of this world
they lost some 15-years-old fans but they earned much respect from the rest of us

this album would be really different without the guidance of the producer Geoff Barrow(Portishead)
--Barrow is a critical element for the "universal critical acclaim"--
every sound, every little detail in this album is captivating

this album is one of the main reasons why the post-punk (/New Grave/) scene in uk is gonna explode sometime next year...

this is what we said when it first leaked:
"don't get me wrong but i really didn't expect this to happen
after a good debut influenced by garage and post punk bands the horrors come back with a near masterpiece album influenced mainly by shoegaze bands
i really didn't see that coming and i suppose you will be surprised as well
i hope in a good way
you can't find any Count In Fives here

but you won't need to do it
primary colours can be described as shoegaze meets post punk and dark wave this is the Horrors after 2 years using their instruments in a totally different way
this is Farris singing in a totally different way
Geoff Barrow (Portishead) produced the album and he's done a great job
this is gonna top even the lists of the music snobs
the members of BloodOnOurShoes rarely rate an album but this time i'm so excited that i'm gonna give this shit nite out of ten and please allow me to declare this as a modern classic 9/10"

Arctic Monkeys - Humbug

this is the only album that we all agreeded with,that's why it's in the 2nd place,although i would put it somewhere lower
Arctic Monkeys didn't disappoint us with their 3rd album,though it required several listens to get used to it
by the time Josh Homme was in the producer's role,along with the master James Ford,we somehow knew what these fellas were up to
the result was a beautiful album,different from their previous releases,finding the band into more dark paths,and kind of grown-up lyrically
Alex Turner is a true hero of the 00s,he has done 4 great albums so far,i can't wait to see what he's planning to do next

Crying Lightning is one of 2009's best singles for me

The Bloody Beetroots - Romborama

this is our favorite electro act of the year
2 italian guys, Sir Bobby Rifo and Tommy Tea are behind these Venom masks
Romborama is a 21-track, 1.21-long disco-rave MONSTER

everyone expected them to release a hard-rave album
that's exactly what they didn't
they mixed all their influences, punk-rock,tech-house,disco,rave,electropop, eveything
and they created something huge

apart from the already known bangers like Cornelius, Butter, Yeyo, FFA1985
they provided Have Mercy On Us, Awesome, It's Better A Dj On 2 Turntables
and of course the Warp Trilogy
Warp 1.9 hit the world like a hurricane
Steve Aoki's 1 2 Whoop Whoop was the signal
some said that this track was the death of electro
but most people loved it

Warp 7.7 was the follow-up
it works well for a remix, not made to create chaos like its brother 1.9

Warp 1977 is the last of the trilogy
the young brother and the best
this remake with guitar riff and Rifo's vocals is just crazy

well, this album would be half good without it's lets-call-them-mellow moments
tracks like Mother, Little Stars, House N* 84
and of course the standout Second Streets Have No Name
give this record a different pop dimension and some space for the bangers to hit you

i don't need to write anything else, just

The Boy - Please Make Me Dance

when this album came out,i just couldn't stop listening to it
16 tracks,with no pause between them,and The Boy playing keys and percussion and singing simultaneously
we are lucky to have had the chances of watching him live several times
he is one of the most devoted and true artists that i have recently heard
every word that comes out of his mouth makes you understand what he wants to tell you
you should definitely check it out,this is a record that not only affects your ears,but your personality as well

Fuck Buttons - Tarot Sport
i must admit that i never got into fuck buttons first album, Street Horrrsing
too noise for my taste, something that kinda changed in this second lp
it's less avant-garde noise / it's more pop
which ain't a bad thing at all since with the term "pop" i'm talking about
the structure of their songs, the climax, the melodies

Surf Solar, the opener, is my favorite track of the year by farrr
as a conclusion i could say that this masterpiece is the definition of music
you know, it's all about feeling something when you hear it

the same thing applies to the rest of the album

The Lisbon Maru could be the lost "dance" anthem of Mayas
it starts with this primitive rythm under these entrancing sounds
till the explosion when this track changes to something from outer space

Olympians is another standout track straight from ancient greece
with captivating "rythm section" and magnificent melodies

there are no vocals here, the music sings for herself
after all, it's all about the melodies

this is without a doubt the year of animal collective
is this their best album or the most overrated album of the year?

Kap Bambino - Blacklist

they amazed us with their debut album,we saw them live smashing everything up,and the second album "Blacklist" came like a dynamite
it may not be included in many lists,but we think that it's pure gold that hasn't been discovered yet
12 awesome tracks in one album is not an easy thing to achieve
they may be influenced by the "Crystal Castles movement",but they have managed to create their own sound
her vocals can be addictive,combined with the strong background loops
and it is a band that you MUST see live,we still remember that we almost lost our ears that night

The Flaming Lips - Embryonic

when you're a genius,there's no way you won't do something right
these guys,with decades of experience with the band,haven't lost it yet
this time they tried the psychedelia concept
i don't know how much time it took it for them,or what on earth they were thinking,but "Embryonic" is a masterpiece that will be remembered.
a double record,a real trip from the very first track to the last one,it makes you feel whatever it wants.
it wants you frightened,it's got you frightened
it wants you down,it's got you down
it wants you thinking,it's got you thinking.
as simple as that

as all great records are depending on the producer's role,it's Dave Fridmann that created this album as well.
without this production,"Embryonic" would lack on many things.
