ALBUM REVIEW-> Bloc Party - Intimacy[2008]

If you're looking for the second "Silent Alarm",then you're probably into the wrong band.Those guys are continuously evolving,they don't intend to write another exact same album so that most of us would love it.By this way they do care to save and unfold music and open up our minds as well.Using synths combined with cool indie guitar riffs is a great thing in their case.The album's opening couldn't be better.Russel Lissack is the man that knows how to fill up a song with the proper effects and riffs,his talent and devotion are beyond our reach.Intimacy finds Bloc Party at the top of their inspiration status and kinda heartbroken lyrically.The result is 10 great tracks that don't stick to formulas,varying from electronic rhythm tracks [Ares,Mercury,Halo,Trojan Horse,One Month Off] to slow melancholic tracks[Biko,Signs]."You get sadder the smarter you get and it's a bore",Kele Okereke is always singing about something that really concerns him and in Intimacy you can clearly understand it reading the lyrics.Those lyrics couldn't fit anywhere better than where Kele put them and created unique songs[Zepherus,Better Than Heaven,Ion Square]which appear to be the album's 3 last tracks.
It's not Silent Alarm,it's not A Weekend In The City.Each album has its own structure and feeling and they cannot be compared.No need to gain back their Silent Alarm fans when those guys save music by giving us something new,something great.
It's Intimacy,and one listen isn't enough to love it.

REVIEW 2008: Black Kids - Partie Traumatic

Two of them are really black. The afrocool singer Reggie Youngblood whose voice could be mistaken for robert smiths' voice (the cure singer) and his sister Ali Youngblood whose voice is pretty smooth. This album is what every indie pop album which respects itself should be. Pretty, catchy and... poppy! What if lyrics like "oh baby you drive me crazy" exist you can't help yourself but loving these "kids".And yeh, there's that all mighty single "I'm Not Gonna Teach Your Boyfriend How To Dance With You" which is great yeh but no chorus here can compete with the beautifull chorus of "hurricane jane"'s one.This one finds Reggie singing about a friday night spent alone..:
"It's Friday night and I ain't got nobody. Oh, what's the use of making a bed? I took something and it feels like karate; it's kicked me down and left me for dead. It's Friday night and I ain't got nobody, so what's the use of pulling a shape? I put what I want, when I want, in my body. I'm never gonna give what I take."

This album is pure gold, grab it!

Review-> The Pigeon Detectives - Emergency[2008]

It definitely isn't a copy of their first album,entitled as "Wait For Me".But not anything that's gonna save today's music either.It's like picking the album's 4 best tracks,and there's no need to listen more of it.No way you can sit and listen to the whole album at once.I tried,but i couldn't wait for the time to tune in to another song.They're all very similar,if you take out "Nothing To Do With You",which is nothing more than a cheap ballad.Still,there are some good tracks that can hit this year's charts,just like they did last year.But it's not the point,is it?

Review-> Cazals - What Of Our Future[2008]

We've been rehearsing a lot,not so much time anyway.Many many albums,but what of it all is worth listening?Well,Cazals,it's probably about the worst album of the year.At least that's what i think.Actually it's not offering you more than any other mediorce indie rock album like the new Fratellis album.It's the same guitars,same lyrics,same everything,at the point that you conclude that someone they know[maybe the singer's mum]has given them away a Kitsune sign.If you really want to listen to other songs,then the one that you "can" give a listen to,without getting yourself killed,is Poor Innocent Boys."What Of Our Future",well,who said anything about your future?What a shame i was so delighted at first,couldn't wait to listen to Kitsune's new sign,here's the excuse,watch the video.
