Shrag - Shrag
Brighton's Shrag came out with one of 2009's freshest indie/pop/post-punk records. "Shrag" was released back in March, it got a 7.4 from Pitchfork and since then Shrag have been touring around Europe with Crystal Stilts, The Pains Of Being Pure At Heart and their friends The Cribs. Mission accomplised then!

So its saturday afternoon and you 're still looking for the perfect soundtrack of the day..Well, here 's a suggestion for you.

Their name is Shrag and they hail from Brighton,UK. Their music sounds a lot like Love Is All (without the saxophone madness of course..) but a little a bit less punked up..If you 're still not aware of the brilliance of Love Is All, another band/genre that you could say they 're very similar to is the whole riot girrrl thing(except for that whole attitude those bands had) ...

They 've got a lot of slow songs too,something that would probably suck under any other circumstances but in this case is just impossible not to like!

The Cribs - Ignore The Ignorant
The Cribs, now a 4-piece, were back this year with their 4th album, Ignore The Ignorant. The album sees the Jarmans taking a big step forward with the help of Johnny Marr (The Smiths, Modest Mouse) and his excellent guitar playing. Ryan(frontman of The Cribs) is still the coolest bump in rock 'n roll and Gary and Ross seem to be ok with new indi-er and more mature direction of the band. Everything is in its place then. Long live The Cribs!

TANLINES

TANLINES is two New Yorkers that make weirdly dancey-feel-good pop music. They sound a lot like Jack Penate's second album minus the vocals and...a lot of that album's bad tracks like "So Near" or "Give Yourself Away" that really sucked.. A lot of people say that their music has a "Balearic tone which brings together Ibiza and Sweden". Well, Since Broken Beats have not got a clue what Balearic music is, we should just describe their music as a fuckin' great tropical-electro-pop mix! What you need to know about TANLINES is that they 've just signed with London's uber cool label, Young Turks and that their track "Bejan" was included in Kitsune's compilation 7. Also, they 've remixed El Guincho's "KALISE" and Telepathe's " Chromes On It". Not bad!Enjoy!
