VIDEO:: The Flaming Lips - I Can Be A Frog

what an album it is,catches you from the very beginning, transfers you to wherever you want to be,and ends with its best song,"Watching The Planets".
psychedelia at its very best, those guys have proven us that they can do anything with their talent.
there came a great album with a great artwork.
they called it "Embryonic".
and here comes its first official video, feat. Karen O on back vocals(or shall i say animal immitations?)

Directed by Wayne Coyne and George Salisbury.

Kode9 & The Spaceape INTERVIEW

Kode9 & The Spaceape, who often collaborate, talk about their music, the dubstep culture and their experiences in djing.
They also talk about the history of Hyperdub records, which was a magazine and they turned it into a record label, that later released Burial's stuff and mostly their own works.
Really interesting.

Tearist

this is my latest great discovery
Tearist (cool name)
is a boy meets girl noise/synth/pop band from california
they have a pretty unique sound
something between suicide and attari teenage riot
you've got to see the live videos because the girl has so much power on her perfomances
she's like the artistic side of alice glass
can't wait to hear more from this band

Watch: THE CRIBS NEW VIDEO

The Cribs' brand new single is "We Share The Same Skies". Although this is one of the stand-out tracks from their latest album, Ignore The Ignorant, its kind of a suprise since they didnt choose to release "Hari Kari" or "Emasculate Me" which are definitely the best ones in there..
Check it out!

Simian Mobile Video

brand new video from simian mobile disco for Cruel Intentions ft. Beth Ditto

Shock Defeat!

Is it just Broken Beats or finding new, good bands has gotten really tough these days(It must be Broken Beats probably..)?So, Shock Defeat is a disco/post-punk, 5-piece from London that sounds a little like this: " somewhere between the likes of Talking Heads, Can and Jonathan Richman and modern day disco punks such as The Rapture and !!! "

Anyway, there are 3 things that 'll fly straight in to yr head while listening to Shock Defeat:
1.Fuck, Shock Defeat are really good!
2.Yes, Shitdisco's singer has a voice duplicate somewhere in London..and
3.Shock Defeat suck for copying out Black Flag's 3-striped logo at their Myspace page, but thats ok...
Elsewhere, Shock Defeat have just released their debut EP called Olympic Village that you can listen to through soundcloud.Enjoy!

Track Of The Day is Surfer Blood - Floating Vibes

Surfer Blood are a band from West Palm Beach, Florida. As you can easily assume by their name they are a surf rock indie group. They gained publicity after the 2009 CMJ marathon, in which they played 12 shows. Their debut "Astro Coast", which was recorded in their dorm room in the University of Florida, is expected on January 19 on Kanine Records. The band currently supports Art Brut on their U.S. tour. "Floating Vibes" is totally awesome!!! check it out!

Arctic Monkeys --->>> NEW TRACKS

After Humbug playing for weeks along in my room and on my mp3(a huge addiction), Arctic Monkeys are back with their 2nd single.
They have picked "Cornerstone",a great choice in my opinion, and there will also be 3 brand new tracks as b-sides.
I just listened to 2 of them, and i'm really excited.
Seriously, whether their new material is different or not,in the end i always love it.

The 3 new tracks come by the names of "Catapult","Sketchead","Fright Lined Dining Room".
You must have read their statements that they started listening to bands like Black Sabbath etc.In case you didn't believe it,"Sketchead" is the proof.Heavy drums and crushing guitar riffs, not likely what we are used to.Those drums remind me of my very old days,"War Pigs".
"Catapult" is the psychedelic side of "Standing Next To Me",without those Humbug-guitars missing.I bet that they were considering it for the album, but decided that it is more suitable for a b-side,which is true.

The single is out on November 16th in 7" and 10" vinyl, and you can preorder it via amazon.

Tracklisting:

7" Vinyl
A: Cornerstone
B: Catapult
10" Vinyl
A: Cornerstone
A1: Catapult
B: Sketchead
B1: Fright Lined Dining Room

Wild Palms' "Over Time" remixes!

So, the word has been said before about London's most interesting new band, Wild Palms (check out our previous post about them here)! What you probably dont know about them is that since our post back in April, the band has come a long way and has managed to release their first single, 2k9's own post-punk anthem, "Over Time" (accompanied with 2 great remixes from Snitch and Roar Terror) .

What's more Wild Palms are now touring Italy and they will be supporting Good Shoes on their winter tour around the UK sometime in December. To cut a long story short, 2k10 has Wild Palms written all over it!

Hot Chip NEW TRACK

as we all know, their new album will be called "One Life Stand" and is due to come out on February 9th via Astralwerks.
the only new track off the album right now is "Take It In",a song with sweet juicy electronic-synth combinations.
as Hot Chip describe their new album:
"One Life Stand’ is a full-blooded leap into the unknown, an album that is awash with Hot Chip’s trademark creative bravery and a searing emotional intensity from first track to last."
there will also be some guests, like Charles Hawyard from the 70's group, This Heat, and Leo Taylor from London indie band The Invinsible.
let's see for ourselves, and wait until February!

SUPERGROUP N.2->>> Them Crooked Vultures

What's with 2009's supergroups?
First we had The Dead Weather, now we have Them Crooked Vultures.
Well, they both have something to do with Queens Of The Stone Age.
Mr Josh Homme, after doing this excellent work for Arctic Monkeys, couldn't stand still.
He called his dear friend and in-times-bandmate,Dave Grohl,to do what he knows to do best ,and along with John Paul Jones (Led Zeppelin) on bass duties, they formed the supergroup called Them Crooked Vultures.
In fact, both Josh Homme and Dave Grohl had talked about this group in interviews a few years ago.But we didn't see anything coming. Now they have proved us wrong.
With Josh on guitars, there's no way that you won't recognise his riffs.
When i first heard about this,i thought "yeah!Songs For The Deaf N.2!".
But it is more into the Era Vulgaris era, which i didn't really enjoy.
Looks like i have a second chance now.Opening with "No One Love's Me & Neither Do I",you automatically get into the mood.
But not until "New Fang" drops in.This one is a fucking hit.Grooving, head banging,i don't know what else it is.
Don't imagine the whole album to be a kick in the teeth.
It even entagles dirty blues on "Scumbag Blues".
A must.

Digitalism Vs The Horrors

it's not about a fight
it's not about the ones talking shit about the others
it's about a remix

Pogo
biggest heavy/dance/pop track of 2007
gets a remix by the biggest (nice) surprise of 2009
i really like the slow build up of this remix
this is what the horrors would create if they decided to get dancy on their 3rd album
like yeahyeahyeahs,franz ferdinand,killers,bloc party,editors.....
it's different and it's great

Tek-One

do you remember Partyshank?
1/2 of them decided to move on as well his bandmate did
we knew A1 Bassline now we've got to know
Tek-One
who are better
heavy basslines compined with heavy drumming and many great samples
that's you should expect
rusko did live dubstep... just by playing some basslines and hitting one-two notes on a microkorg
these guys know how to make you move
if you want to see what LIVE Dubstep means, check these videos

News----->Lightspeed Champion New Album Coming Soon

Lightspeed Champion
releases new album on 1st February 2010

We are very excited to announce that Lightspeed Champion has returned with his second album, Life is Sweet! Nice To Meet You. The follow-up to 2008’s Falling Off The Lavender Bridge is an epic collection of twelve pop songs, two instrumental intermissions and one piano étude, set for release on 1st February 2010.

Lightspeed’s early leaning towards American country dressings is traded here for a palette that draws on classical music and even musical theatre. Producer and mixer Ben Allen (Animal Collective, Gnarls Barkley) assembles the eclectic grab-bag of influences: joltingly ‘70s guitar and synth sounds, classical piano, Greek choruses shouting reprisals, and at least one ukelele-driven moment.

All tracks on Life is Sweet! Nice To Meet You were written and arranged by Dev Hynes.

Tracklist:
1 – Dead Head Blues
2 – Marlene
3 – There’s Nothing Underwater
4 – Intermission
5 – Faculty Of Fears
6 – The Big Guns Of Highsmith
7 – Romart
8 – I Don’t Want To Wake Up Alone
9 – Madame Van Damme
10 – Smooth Day (At The Library)
11 – Intermission 2
12 – Sweetheart
13 – Etude Op.3 ‘Goodnight Michalek’
14 – Middle Of The Dark
15 – A Bridge And A Goodbye
