The Horrors - Primary Colours ( New Album )

don't get me wrong but i really didn't expect this to happen
after a good debut influenced by garage and post punk bands the horrors come back with a near masterpiece album influenced mainly by shoegaze bands
i really didn't see that coming and i suppose you will be surprised as well
i hope in a good way
you can't find any Count In Fives here
no
but you won't need to do it
primary colours can be described as shoegaze meets post punk and dark wave

this is the Horrors after 2 years using their instruments in a totally different way
this is Farris singing in a totally different way

Geoff Barrow (Portishead) produced the album and he's done a great job

this is gonna top even the lists of the music snobs

the members of BloodOnOurShoes rarely rate an album but this time i'm so excited that i'm gonna give this shit nite out of ten and please allow me to declare this as a modern classic

TIGA new album,"Ciao"

After he hit the dancefloor for good with "Mind Dimension",it's time for his second album,"Ciao".
Coming out at the end of April,he has collaborated with Soulwax and James Murphy,as well as Gonzales.
Techno with amazing basslines at its peak, the album will also rely on lyrical content.

Coincidence?

take a listen to the main riffs of the two songs
pretty similar
no?

ps. why is steve aoki ALWAYS in beetroots videos?

THE BOY

these are about to be some of the greatest 2009's tracks
and his forthcoming album "PLEASE MAKE ME DANCE" definitely on the top 10
one-man stand doing drumming, keyboards and singing and live sets without pauses.

but still no,you don't get the idea, not a little bit.
are you ready?cause you're not gonna believe this

Track Of The Day #45 Of Montreal - Ever Fallen In Love (The Buzzcocks Cover)

Kevin Barnes really loves covers
from nirvana to M.I.A.
from the beatles to gnarls barkley
what matters is that what he does has its own of montreal character
that's what makes him special
that's what makes this cover special

The Killers Cover Bright Eyes' "Four Winds"

are they humans or are they suckers?
you've got to let me know

someone must stop them
enough with these indie rock bands trying to become anything near 80s synth pop or whatever

Patrick Wolf - Vulture (new track + video)

Is it Patrick Wolf or is it Depeche Mode that wrote the music?
Sounds a lot like Depeche Mode though, but he had stated that his album will consist of 2 discs,an electronic one and another that kinda sounds like his previous work.
I hope his album will make it to stand amongst the 2009's best, but such talent like his can't be doubted.

The Caesars - Jerk It Out(Dirty Disco Youth remix)

The anthem itself,remixed.
It's one of those old tracks that you wouldn't ever think of someone who could change its structure.
But nothing is impossible.

cause it's easy once you know how it's done
you can't stop now
it's already begun
you feel it
running through your bones
and you jerk it out

The Enemy - No Time For Tears Video

the angry kids from uk are back with a pretty good track
still talking about getting away from the city
still having that feeling about the next "90s revolution"
they want to be what oasis were for the 90s
but no
they ain't not even close to it coz 00s are nothing like 90s

Track Of The Day #44 is Phoenix - 1901( The Teenagers remix)

So!Since today is the remix day, here's the remix to Phoenix's new single "1901" from The Teenagers..You 'll probably wonder who the fuck are Phoenix and why should The Teenagers do a remix for them..Well, we don't really have the answer to that..Except for this song "1901", anything else from Phoenix is bullshit.. Is it just Broken Beats who think that every other song from Phoenix sounds a lot like Jamiroquai? I hope not..
Anyway, if you like Phoenix, then you 'll probably have a reason to like them, so ok!
If you are a Teenagers fan or even a Phoenix fan, you should get this, its nice!

Twist And Shout (Pat Swayzak Remix)

Well, shake it up, baby, now, (shake it up, baby)
Twist and shout. (twist and shout)
Cmon cmon, cmon, cmon, baby, now, (come on baby)
Come on and work it on out. (work it on out)

You know you’re a twisty little girl, (twisty little girl)
You know you twist so fine. (twist so fine)
Come on and twist a little closer, now, (twist a little closer)
And let me know that you're mine. (let me know you’re mine)

This is what happens when the best band ever gets a decent remix
something to drive the crowd crazy in every dj set

shake it up baby

Track Of The Day #43 is Metric - Gimme Sympathy

Return single for Emily Haines and co."Gimme Sympathy " finds Metric totally stuck in the 2005 -2007 glamorous-indie era which is not so bad as long as we 're not talking about The Killers ..Emily has still got "the looks" something which is good news since all the other guys in her band are just losers..Their bassist even wears a hat...What the fuck??
So!Apart from the mediorcity of this first single off their new album "Fantasies" and the awfulness of their bassist, everything else seems good for Metric.. I mean the rest of the album sounds a lot like their previous stuff, something that surely doesn't make them the most innovative band of our days but it's not like the worst thing you 've ever heard.. Tokio Hotel and Kings Of Leon's " Use Somebody" are definitely the worst things you 've ever heard...
P.s:
Share the headphones won't be "Gimme Sympathy" because it is just not so good.."Help i 'm Alive" is gooooooood!check it out!

New Favourite Band?? Mickey Gang!

So, you 've been on your endless Myspace quest to find the new, awesome band that only you will be aware of..Well, stop doing that anymore..Its getting boring and besides that, you 've got BloodOnOurShoes to do that for you!
Mickey Gang are four brazilian guys and they sound exactly like a band from Brazil would sound..And that's like a male CSS!Fucking great!I guess you could see Mickey Gang as the band CSS wanted to be in their second album.. CSS wanted to rock out in their second album but these guys, Mickey Gang, do that so much better than them.. "Born In The 90's" , one of their Myspace tracks, is pure brazilian/indie/pop brilliance with all its synths and sexy attitude and rap sampling(!) making you to automatically move your head up and down. As soon as the guitar kicks in too the problems begin..Dancing in your room can be harmful sometimes..
Masterpiece!Definitely, your new favourite band!

Track Of The Day #42 is Das Wanderlust - Puzzle

Well, this is for anyone who wants to rock out tonite!Das Wanderlust are from the UK and they sound a lot like every great Riot Grrrrrl group..In fact, i hate to say this, but NME tagged them as "Post Riot Grrrl pop" which actually fits a lot to what they sound like..But!Fuck the NME..They suck so bad..On the other hand, Artrocker seems to really like this "post-riot grrrrl.." female fronted band! Their reviewer amongst some other really flattering words, wrote "When was the last time you heard a band who made your head feel like it was going to burst open? ". Alright! That's a bit too much but who is Broken Beats to doubt Artrocker's opinion?!So..Enjoy the new U2!No...But seriously, check them out! They 're goood!

P.s.:
The new myspace player has really fucked us..you cant get any free downloads anymore..sorry...

PEACHES new tracks

Her fifth album is due to come out on May 5th entitled as "I Feel Cream",and something tells me it's gonna be great. With contributions from bands such as Soulwax,Simian Mobile Disco,Drums Of Death and Digitalism, chances are that we have something big to wait for.
"More"
is a massive tune and it can easily reach the charts, while "I Feel Cream" could have been Roisin Murphy's new track but it looks like someone else did it first.

Track Of The Day #40 is Hot Lava - Apple + Option + Fire

Ok!Well, here 's some good music! They 're called Hot Lava, they hail from Virginia,US, they 've got a woman doing the lead vocals and they 're absolutely amazing! Their music is sweeten up - indie/pop/rock which is just impossible not to like! If you checked out the latest issue of Velvet Magazine, there was an article about them in there too, so its not just Broken Beats's belief that they 're good!
"Apple + Option + Fire" is probably one of their best tracks but "Blue Dragon" "JPG In The Sun" are pretty nice too!Check them out! Now!

Here is the video for Blue Dragon..we couldnt find Apple+....

Natalie Portman's Shaved Head

Natalie Portman's Shaved Head is an American indie rock electronica band from Seattle, Washington. They released their debut album in july 2008.Their music reminds us a lot of the 80's and their songs are so happy and cute!Sophisticated side ponytail may be lasting just 1:31 but it's so funny and lovely!!"Do you wanna see Shamu with me? Yes I do! I love Shamu! " NPSH has begun work on their next album and they will tour in support of Lily Allen's North American tour.

Track Of The Day #38 is Kings Of Leon - Pistol Of Fire(Mark Ronson remix)

Alright! This has been around for some time now and we thought it would be a good idea to have it as "Track Of The day" since KOL are so hot these days..

This re-edit in one of Kings's best tracks up to date, comes out sounding a lot like everything Mark Ronson has done in the past(strings section etc etc etc..).If you like Kings of Leon and you also happen to like Mark Ronson you 'll probably love this!

Dutch Uncles

Dutch Uncles is good!I dont know why but they 're just stuck on the stereo for at least the past few days..Dutch Uncles are 5 guys and they 've just released their debut album which will probably suck but who cares..3 out of their 4 Myspace tracks is just pure british/indie/pop greatness!+
They 've been supporting Dananananaykroyd lately which is cool since Dananananaykroyd is good! Not great but funny and enjoyable..
Check them out!Dutch Uncles!

Bombay Bicycle Club

BBC have been around for far too long but it was just yesterday that Broken Beats decided to listen to them with the appropriate mood and that is not to slag them off ..They 're not such a bad band as they appeared to be in the beginning.. Actually, they make decent childish/indie /rock w
hich is one of Broken Beats's favourite genres..
Artrocker magazine seems to like them too and that's definitely important for an up and coming band like BBC and for Broken Beats to like a band..

Track Of The Day #36 is Art Brut - Alcoholics Unanimous

Comeback single for Mr. Argos and his friends! Its not bad but it is no "Direct Hit" or "Emily Kane" or "Nag Nag Nag"..The new album is called " ART BRUT VS. SATAN " and it will be released sometime in April.Anyhow, even if this album sucks, Art Brut will always be one of Broken Beats's fave bands since they had bought us beers the last time they had visited Greece...It was cool!Eddie had even shown us a text message the real Emily Kane had sent him..

Franz Ferdinand!!!

Great news, guy's!!! It's finally official!! Franz Ferdinand have confirmed a live appearance in Greece for this summer.... We're all looking forward for the band's return to our country......
Here is a video of the band performing an acoustic version of the song "No You Girls", at the studio stairs. Enjoy.....

Track Of The Day #35 is The Kabeedies - Lovers Ought To

So if you 're still wondering all around Myspace for 2k9's best indie/pop band, well it's time you would stopped doing that because The Kabeedies are that band!Coming off as a female fronted Goodshoes, The Kabeedies are definitely in the list of the "Ones to watch in 2009" . "Lovers Ought To" is easily one of their key Myspace tracks but its not just that track." Palindromes" has already been in our Mixtape sometime ago and " Treasure Hunting " and " King Kanute " is just 2 indie/pop diamonds! Also, their new single " Little Brains " will be released in April with an awesome artwork to accompany it and it seems really promising!Goooooooooood stuff!

Saturday, 14 March 2009

Track Of The Day #34 is Teenagers - Feeling Better(Doc Ron's Seppuku Remix)

If you like Teenagers and been looking around for a good remix of them, well here is your track!Keeping up with the whole pop/dancey attitude of the song, the remix from this "Doc Ron sth.." makes this awesome track from Teenagers a lot more fun for the dancefloor by bringing up the beats a little bit..There is few remixes that turn out to be better than the original ones and this is definitely one of them!

Pete And The Pirates

Here is two fresh tracks from one of the most decent bands to be out there right now,Pete And The Pirates! They are definitely not as good as " Mr. Understanding " and " Knots" but they 're funny..You can easily spend 3 minutes of your life listening to that on a Saturday afternoon...

Track Of The Day # 33 is My Tiger My Timing - This Is Not The Fire

Alright! This has had BrokenBeats dancing in his room throughout the entire afternoon..MTMT are from London, they formed in 2008 and they could be described as a laid-back Cut Copy fronted by a woman.. "This Is Not The Fire" is their first release and it was produced by a member of New Young Pony Club which explains why they sound a lot like them too. Anyhow, MTMT are probably not going to have such a big carreer in the music industry since they 're too ugly to even have their pictures taken..Besides that, this track is perfect! You should all get it!

High-class sounds followed by a stick-to-the-beat video.
Simian Mobile Disco have chosen to show us the path they'll follow,a more electronic disco one.
