Track Of The Day #90 is The Horrors - Whole New Way

The Horrors have come a long way from being a hyped-up/posh band to an actual quality/posh-but-ok band. Could this be the best track from The Horrors? Well, why not? It sounds a lot like everything else from their 2nd album, "Primary Colours", except for the addition of the drum machine going on through out the track. Could The Horrors' 3rd album be as good as their 2nd?Definitely no!
Enjoy!

Track Of The Day #89 is Still Life Still - Pastel

Still Life Still hail from Toronto,Canada and they make old fashioned, indie-pop/rock the way only Americans (or Canadians in this case..) can! SLS have just released their debut album called "Girls Come Too" on Arts & Crafts, the record label of Broken Social Scene's Kevin Drew. So, what's interesting and kind of a bummer about them is that they look a bit emo-ish which sucks actually. Their bassist probably has holes for ears since his streching is frankly obnoxious. Anyway, enough with digging the grave of SLS since everything else about these 5 canadians is absolutely great! Kevin Drew must also like them a lot since he stars in their clip for today's track Of The Day, "Pastel". Enjoy! Try not to look at their bassist..

track Of The Day #88 Is Tropical - I 'll Take My Chances

What's interesting about IT though, is that they formed just a year ago and they 've already managed to get into Artrocker and..the enemy which is NME. Plus, they 'll be performing at Manchester's most interesting festival for new bands, "In The City". That's it then! Fuck The Strokes, Is Tropical is the "shit" nowadays (No, scratch that..The Strokes are bound to be the shit forever..)!

Are You Aware of Turnstile?

So, we 've already blogged about our favourite bands and our favourite movies..Now, its time for our new, favourite blog/music site and that is Turnstilemusic.net! Turnstile is something like Drowned In Sound and that is a music site and a selective record label at the same time. Turnstile's signings till now is Swanton Bombs (check them out here), Video Nasties, Girls and Perfume Genius.

Anyway, the deal with Turnstile is that they 've taken up this new project called Bento where they invite other artists to put together a short mixtape with their favourite new bands. Bentos have now reached up to #4(curated by NO AGE) with previous ones featuring choices from Los Campesinos' lead singer, Gareth Campesinos(Bento #2), another cool blog, Transparent(#3), and of course Turnstile's own roster which was Bento #1. To cut a long story short then, check out Turnstile and enter their mailing list to get your Bentos! Its that easy!

The Bravery - Slow Poison NEW SINGLE

what about them?
i didn't expect something fascinating from them this time.
though i loved their early days
anyway
"Slow Poison" is the first single from their upcoming album "Stir the Blood" which will be released on December 1st.
it's like listening to White Lies with an electronic taste.
a disappointment

Bang!Bang!Eche! - Sonic Death Cuntttt EP REVIEW

Actually, after their first and unique release in 2008,their amazing self titled EP,i thought they were dead.
I don't mean that they split up,but i hadn't heard anything new from them for months.
These kids from New Zealand proved me wrong.
"4 to the floor",which became a big hit, brought a new EP entitled as Sonic Death Cuntttt, and i'm totally into it.
It's like listening to a new Late Of The Pier EP,or the good old RAT:ATT:AGG.
Pure dance-punk,Bang!Bang!Eche! bring it back to life.
Straight-to-the-beat synths, noisy guitars and distorted vocals, they create a sound which you can't easily forget.
If you're looking for their new hit,it's definitely "Fist Full Of Dollars",opening for the 12minute long EP.
Don't get me wrong, but if you just read the song titles, there's no way that you won't listen to them.
+do my eyes fool me or are they still unsigned?

Track Of The Day #87 is BEAT! BEAT! BEAT! - Fireworks

The Germans do it better! In the beginning it was.... Tokyo Hotel and then a few months ago it was ROBOCOP KRAUS! Now its time for these other 4 german kids, Beat! Beat! Beat!, to prove that they can do it a lot like the British do, when it comes to refreshing/childish/indie-pop music, ( picture Bombay Bicycle Club's "Always Like This" with a chirpier attitude..) and that's absolutely fine with Broken Beats! Beat! Beat! Beat! have just released their 4-track debut ep called Stars that also includes a shoegaze-style take on their track "Stars" from The Cinematics. Enjoy!

Track Of The Day #86 is Los Campesinos! - There Are Listed Buildings

Well, welcome back Los Campesinos! " There Are Listed Buildings " is the first single off Los Campesinos! (Broken Beats' favourite band back in 2k8!) , yet untitled, 3rd album which will be released sometime in 2010. "There are..." sounds a lot like every other Los Camp! track except for the brass section witch adds a new element to their already beloved and widely recognizable twee/indie-pop/punk sound.

In addition to all this, Los Camp! also "signed" a new member, frontman's sister Gareth, Kim Campesinos! + they gave away another new track called " The Sea Is A Good Place To Think Of The Future " which was pretty slow actually.. "Your year in lists" then? It will definitely include Los Campesinos once again!
