FRESH:: Lightspeed Champion - Madame Van Damme (New Track)

Dev Hynes(or Lightspeed Champion) is back with his 2nd official album
as we have posted before,it's gonna be called
"Life Is Sweet,Nice To Meet You.",out on February 1st
Domino is giving away a song from the album, called
"Madame Van Damme"
it's simply brilliant,with a really catchy refrain
i fell in love with it instantly
According to Domino, the new album will be very inspired by American country, 70's guitar and classic piano
if the rest of the songs are like this one,
Dev Hynes can consider himself for the 2010 lists as well

The Next MP3 Generation

A new music file format has been created that can embed lyrics, videos, artwork and comments within it’s coding.
It will be called MP3DNA.
Spearheading this new design is Karlheinz Brandenburg, the man who brought you the mp3.

Mr Bach said: “These files will be dynamically updateable so every time the user is connected his file will be updated. MusicDNA will have a test version in the spring with a full roll out at the end of the summer.”

The new format will go head to head with Apple’s iTunes LP, which gives users a similar experience with bonus tracks, lyrics and video interviews.

FRESH:: Gorillaz - Stylo

a lot has been said for the new Gorillaz album "Plastic Beach", coming out on March 8th
Damon Albarn had stated that he would like "to work with an incredibly eclectic, surprising cast of people."
and so he did
the album will feature Snoop Dogg, Lou Reed, Mos Def, Mark E. Smith and several others
Gorillaz have even recorded a track with The Horrors, but noone knows if it will be released
so there's no doubt that we are all waiting for this album

the first track that we were lucky to hear is a radio edit of "Stylo"
i would say it is more into 80s, a different sound of what we were expecting
but it is rather interesting,it sounds like an old analog electronic song
and you can hardly tell if it is the usual Damon singing, featuring Bobby Womack and Mos Def
enjoy

Top 10 Albums To Look Forward To 2010 (Part 2)

Justice - Album #2
busy p confirmed that the boys are locked up in their basement
there is so much excitement that there are over 5 fake "new justice tracks" on youtube
all these have the typical justice trademarks but they're too amateur

why do we need this album?
we need to d.a.n.c.e. and partyyyyyy
we need more "metal-disco" coz the whole nudisco thing is gonna bore us to death
something like the impact of Waters Of Nazareth or Phantom could save us

fake new track

Crystal Castles - Album #2

CC have started the recording of their 2nd album on December
Paul Epworth is the producer (Bloc Party,DFA1979,Babyshambles,The Big Pink)
and from what he said, the new album is gonna "change the rules of the pop game"

why do we need this album?
they are one of the most controversial bands of the decade
blame/enjoy the energy,blame/enjoy the antipopstar attitude,blame/enjoy their fake identity
and blame them for stealing from 8bit artists, but for me they are the only ones who gave some soul to this -not fully discovered- genre

track from their 2nd album

M.I.A. - Mission.Impossible.Area
“I wanted to make something that you could play that isn’t trendy just for three months, or the length of a DJ’s attention span,”
we've already heard their first single ( shitty quality though ) and we loved it
rusko produced it and let's hope he produced more for the album

why do we need this album?
she's the only artist who actually gives a fuck about the world without being pretendious
she's the only artist who can combine whatever instrument always with a great result
so the 3rd album should be a great celebration of her talent

new single

Soulwax - Album #2 (nite versions sound)
the masters of mash-ups & fast djing, the masters of electro production
the masters of remixes, the masters of the masters
will be back and they will teach all the kids how to write some great tracks

why do we need this album?
they are the definition of Electro Punk and the teachers of this scene
so anything new from them will give the whole sound/scene some fresh air
and possibly a new direction and approach

Rusko - Debut Album
rusko on the other hand is the master of dubstep
he's been working on his first proper album since late 2008 - early 2009
and it was supposed to come out on last September by Mad Decent records
so let's hope that the album will be out this year

why do we need this album?
since he's the master of dubstep and the one who brought it "overground" -NOT A BAD THING
i'm sure he can survive this process of making an album that will meet the expectations and an album that people can listen when they're home
(no wobble)
after all dubstep is possibly the next dance...

ps. i was going to include late of the pier but the latest news show no intention of them to record a full album, blueberry is just a special release (this track is older than the 1st album)

HEARTSREVOLUTION Need Your Help

from their official twitter

HeartsRevolution has been on a very long journey, 4 years to be exact. We set out with the intention to start a cultural revolution and to change the way music influenced people's lives, we wanted to make beautiful things (music/art) and not worry about doing it for anyone other than ourselves... That doesn't always work since with the way systems are set up because at the end of the day it still is a business but everyone around keeps telling us the music industry is dying... Nobody is buying music anymore.... We aren't really concerned with the business side of things. we believe if you create magic, the universe will always find a way to support. With that being said, we have been in the process of recording our first full length record, RIDE OR DIE, 13 songs with a video for each track. We are taking our time and not allowing the false time restrictions and deadlines that the world sometimes tries to project on you allowing you to real pressure and fear. There is nothing to fear but fear itself. But that isn't the news.. Most of you know we have a fleet of cotton candy pink heartschallenger ice cream trucks in LA/NY. Well, we wanted to bring that experience to the kids around the globe. But, we didn't want to stop there... Since the beginning this project was about thinking outside the box, following your childhood dreams and trusting your heart. (This is the part where you all think i am bananas... drum roll please) For those who don't know what that is... They make the most beautiful crystals in the world. We are going to decorate one of our ice cream trucks with 100,000 crystals and make it sparkle and shine with light + love and we are going to document the creation of this masterpiece as well as behind the scenes to the making of the album and post it monthly. But, we need your help! So if anyone is interested in being part of this story and wants to put a little bit of magic back into this world, please email us hello@heartsrevolution.com tell us your name/location/zodiac/ and why you are a heartschallenger or heartsrevolutionary. HEART(s): The vital center and source of one's being, emotions REVOLUTION:an overthrow and replacement of a established system by the people. HEART(s): The vital center and source of one's being, emotions CHALLENGER: a person that challenges. Thank you for your consideration have a great last day of retrograde. Oh fuck, i am probably still half asleep because of going to the Julian Casablancas show last night... I almost forgot: with the release of the album, we are going to ship the crystallized ice cream truck anywhere in the world to do a gig on demand, based on where it/we are requested. Mexico city! Holler! Tokyo? Where you at? Portugal? S. Africa? Who knows... We are floating around in outer space, nobody really knows how we got here. So, if i am going to reside on planet earth, i will do it while touring inside a pink ice cream truck filled with international ice cream, candy, toys and float around the surface of earth spreading sunshine and inspiration to others. OK, let's go!

FRESH:: Franz Ferdinand feat.Marion Cotillard - The Eyes Of Mars

Franz Ferdinand, collaborating with a hollywood star(Marion Cotillard won the Oscar for her perfomance in La Vie En Rose..) for a tv ad? Well, its true!Franz recorded "The Eyes Of Mars" with Cotillard for the new campain of Dior."The Eyes.." find Franz in a good shape (still..) since the whole female-voice/erotic mood of the track seems to work fine. Check it out, go buy Dior!(Just kidding..)

Top 10 Albums To Look Forward To 2010 (Part 1)

in no particular order

The Strokes - Album #4
the boys will be back after a long long break
the band failed to make them disgusted of each other
so they are in the studio writing demos

why do we need this album?

because "indie" like we knew it is dying on mediorce-just good albums
or the bands are changing to something else that simply doesn't fit them
but Ze Strokes can save the garage-indie sound once again

Lcd Soundsystem - Album #3

are you sure Mr. Murphy? really? is your 3rd album the best?
after 2 modern classics what could be better?
i guess we will find out soon

why do we need this album?

because lcd were the first to mix electro/disco with punk/funk
what will be your life soundtrack other than an James Murphy album?

Daft Punk - Album #4
late last year there were rumors about specific live dates for 2010
for what we know, our next door robots are on their studio preparing their next album
let's hope it's true

why do we need this album?

they are the masters of dance music, the masters of live djing
if there's a chance you could see them live just do everyting you can to see them
if lcd soundsystem provide the soundtrack of our lifes then DP can provide the soundtrack of our nights

Klaxons - Album #2
label bastards made us wait one more year for the follow up
well, who should we blame? the label for considering album #2 too "weird"
or the band for agreeing?

why do we need this album?
because they were something brand new and fresh, they made glowsticks sound modern
they told us futuristic stories, they put colour on our clothes
we need stories about moon creatures that we can actually dance to

Burial - Album #3
Mr. Will Bevan must feel pretty naked, we know his name, we've seen his face
and he must produce another masterpiece which will hunt our souls again
listen to Forestcare on hyperdub compilation and you will be sure that he can do it

why do we need this album?
if some music can save our souls then that music would be Burial's

Readers Favorite of 2009

here are the poll results
1.The Horrors - Primary Colours vs The XX - The XX = TIE
3.Animal Collective - Merriweather Post Pavilion
4.Phoenix - Wolfgang Amadeus Phoenix
5.Yeah Yeah Yeahs - It's Blitz!
6.Fuck Buttons - Tarot Sport
7.Fever Ray - Fever Ray
8.Passion Pit - Manners
9.Arctic Monkeys - Humbug
10.Peaches - I Feel Cream

Primary Colours was our favorite album
The XX album was on #27
it seems pretty logical why you loved The XX
the minimalistic approach of the production
vocals like porcelain dolls which you can't touch because they are ready to crash on the floor
everything on the right place
but
still i rate it as a 7 out of 10 album cause all the songs are too similar
Crystalised for example is a great great song (personal favorite) but the rest of the album is far from that standards
it's a good, promising, i-recently broke up- record
for me Fuck Buttons are the biggest win here since it's a difficult, noisepop record

let's hope that 2010 is an even better year for music
soon you will find out who made it in our official Sound Of 2010 list

News----->James Murphy: New LCD Soundsystem album is “definitely better than the other two”

Vague information about the new LCD Soundsystem continues to dribble out. In this week’s NME, which hit newsstands today, James Murphy says that the eagerly-anticipated record is “definitely better” than the band’s previous two full-lengths.

“What I tried to do on the second record [Sound of Silver] was to make a much more wider and strange-sounding record [than LCD Soundsystem], but I ended up making something more cohesive. This time round I’m not sure what I’m trying to do…but I think I am doing what I was trying to achieve on Sound of Silver, which was a wider palette of sound.”

No news yet on the tracklist or title of the album, which is expected to see release in the early Spring.

“I don’t tend to name my albums until they’re completely done,” Murphy tells NME. “I always have a fake title that is the worst title I can think of while I’m working on it….This new record is called ‘Internet Sensation!’ with an exclamation mark.”

The album has been recorded in LA and New York with LCD regulars Al Doyle (also of Hot Chip) and Pat Mahoney, as well as Gavin ‘Black Meteoric Star’ Russom.

Titus Andronicus are back
with one of the most underated albums of the decade on their bags they release the follow up
"The Monitor" will be released on 9th of March
first single from the album is called "Four Score and Seven" and it's an epic 8min. long monster

they decided to split it into two parts which is working really good for the track
part 1 is an indie-country crossover with the vocals climax going on "you won't be laughing, so hard"
part 2 is the time for the guitars + smart drumming to do their job
as it's getting louder n' louder you can clearly feel that this band sounds like their enjoying themselves so much and i'm pretty sure they do

It's Still Us Against Them

"So, as you may have guessed,..The Monitor.... is more or less a "concept album" – that is to say, it uses the American Civil War of 1861-1865 as an extended metaphor for the concerns addressed in a somewhat linear narrative.", says Patrick from the band in their myspace blog

Foals New Tracks

"We have almost finished recording in Svenska Grammofon and will be heading back to start mixing next week. It's been emotional and we're sad to be leaving behind so many new friends but excited about not working 15 hour days and having to watch Kardashian family marathons on E! channel as our only source of mindbalm.
The record is sounding ace, no lactose, a new mythology a new outlook and a new skin.
A new space for our heads! which is what it's all for right?! To clear the demons and build something beautiful out of nothing."

that's what yannis said on early november

well from these videos i can say that the 2nd album will be massive
can't wait

ALBUM:: These New Puritans - Hidden

back in 2008,we were impressed with their debut album "Beat Pyramid"
it didn't seem to follow any genre that year, but still it sounded totally fresh
2010 comes with their follow-up,called
"Hidden"
and no,they still don't intend to make easy-memorable songs
they created a journey to the past in 11 tracks
it is like living in an old civilization
they have cleverly added choirs, and the record is not relied on guitars at all
it is definitely beat-driven while amazing synth sounds explode
the samples that they have used create a unique atmosphere, which can only transfer you to the past

it is not a safe path to follow on your second album, but these guys are worth a lot of respect for this work
so do them a favour, and try to keep the volume up so that you can totally feel it

Indieground Radio Party

No rest for the wicked

Mind the click and keep the music evil.
